About The Author

Shahab Hashtroudi

I originally set out to be a restaurateur, not a writer. However, my extraordinary experiences in pre-revolutionary Iran, as an entrepreneur, and during my time in prison gave me a unique voice.

My book, Legacy of a Shooting Star, blends sharp insights with warm familial memories and emotional depth. It explores themes of identity, human behavior, and the defining moments that either break or shape us. Through my reflections on life’s unexpected turns, I aim to encourage readers to think beyond the surface and delve into the deeper layers of our shared humanity.

A Thoughtful Approach

I’ve always been full of curiosity, with an eye for detail. One of my favorite books is The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I admire the way he seamlessly blends characters and atmosphere, drawing readers into his world with prose that feels both personal and universal.

My own writing, especially Legacy of a Shooting Star, is influenced by culture, history, and reflection. The book is also a heartfelt tribute to my father. The harshness of the early sections, which reflect my imprisonment, is balanced with stories from my youth, my entrepreneurial journey, and my reflections as a free man. There’s plenty in the book that I hope will inspire others, especially those on their own entrepreneurial paths.
